Credentials & Experience

Licensed to practice in Ontario, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., Fasiha brings a cross-border perspective to her work. She earned her law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law, one of the top ranked law schools for family law and completed a concentration in family law.  Fasiha led the law school’s first legal education workshop for survivors of intimate partner violence.

Before founding her practice, Fasiha gained valuable experience in private practice, deepening her knowledge of complex family law issues including property division, high conflict parenting issues including relocation and child abduction, child support and spousal support.

Fasiha also as experience is drafting marriage contracts that include mahr/nikkah terms as well as Islamic wills that are drafted to be enforceable under the law.

Trauma-Informed Legal Support

Fasiha Khan has certified training and on-the-ground experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV), particularly within the Muslim community. Early in her legal career, she led the University of Baltimore School of Law’s first community legal education initiative focused on the rights of Muslim survivors of domestic violence. Since then, she has continued to work closely with women’s shelters, non-profits, and community organizations, offering legal services, staff training, and public education on the intersection of family law and abuse.

This background gives Fasiha a trauma-informed approach that is essential in family law matters involving abuse, control, or coercion. She understands the unique legal, emotional, and cultural dynamics at play in these cases—and is skilled at crafting legal strategies that prioritize client safety, empowerment, and long-term security.

Whether it’s securing protection orders, advocating for parenting arrangements that prioritize safety, or supporting survivors through separation and financial disentanglement, Fasiha provides sensitive, strategic, and steadfast legal support.

Community Engagement

Fasiha is deeply committed to community service. She regularly provides legal services and pro bono support to women’s shelters, non-profit organizations, and community education programs throughout the GTA. She frequently presents on family law issues, especially as they relate to the Muslim community and survivors of abuse.

She is on the legal roster of several local shelters, where she delivers both front-line legal support and training to shelter staff.
